my favorite variation of Hans's redemption will always be the one where he sacrifices himself for Elsa.

they had an "unpleasant experience" in which Hans came close to, well, killing Elsa (antis' favorite argument, okay, I take it). yes, we can analyze this more deeply, find signals that he really "didn't want to" and that this was literally the only way they saw to stop winter, etc (up to Elsa's passive consent due to guilt over Anna's death, about which Hans in general did not lied), but... the fact remains that Hans came damn close to hacking Elsa down with his sword.

so I don't think we can be surprised by Elsa's reaction after all, yeah (however, I think it's more about how he hurt Anna).

I accept this for what I'm going to say next. you know, complicated relationships with the dynamics of "from enemies to lovers", "love/hate". we enjoy it.

and the hardest part of all this is that Elsa will never be able to let Hans get close enough. she won't be able to really trust him, knowing that he can manipulate and suspecting that Hans can always pursue personal goals. she has a right to be suspicious after all.

what can fix the situation? that this man would risk his own life for Elsa's survival, her life and safety. consciously, at the risk of dying and ready to accept it. because Hans, who begins to develop feelings for Elsa, will be ready to act in accordance with these feelings. but something else: Hans, who begins to develop feelings for Elsa, will himself be burdened by past actions "to kill Elsa, stop winter, become a hero and a king."

I like the poetry of it, the symbolism and how it's really redeeming: yes, in the past he came close to killing Elsa, but now he's gone so far from it that he's literally ready to die for her.

in this scenario, Elsa herself gets rid of the suspicions that are rooted inside her, because when Hans is ready to die for her, it really changes perceptions and creates a "new level".

you know, Anna too can change her extremely negative attitude and still accept Helsa relationship. of course, it's difficult when your sister, the closest person, develops her own dynamic with your ex, who manipulated you and traumatized you, and from whom you shielded her with your body in the past... however, if Anna sees that Hans almost died for Elsa, I think she will be able to accept it.

honestly, when it comes to Helsa, the fact that Hans is her ex is the last thing she'll care about (she's found her "true love," after all). she will be worried that Hans could potentially use Elsa and harm Elsa. but if she sees that Hans is really willing to sacrifice himself for Elsa... well, I'm not talking about absolute forgiveness on Anna's part (and Anna has every right not to give him forgiveness after he treated her), but acceptance in such a scenario takes place. Elsa is her top priority, after all.

-Helsas parents were originally born in the Envy Ring, but moved to the Pride Ring, became overlords and had both Seviathan and Helsa in the Pride Ring

-She alongside her brother, Seviathan has known Charlie since they were all children

-Helsa has been DOWN BAD for Charlie for YEARS, however never knew how to properly show it so she bullied the CRAP outta Charlie, it only got worse when Seviathan started dating Charlie in high school

-When Seviathan and Charlie eventually broke up with each other, she managed to bury her feelings down even more and convince herself alongside a heartbroken Seviathan to HATE Charlie

-is a MASSIVE daddy's girl

-unlike her brother who idmitly is more bark then bite, she is absolutely BRUTAL can got toe to toe with many powerful demons, including Charlie

-She, along her brother has actually met the real Leviathan during a trip back to their homeland in the Envy Ring

-Helsa is EXTREMELY smart and has dirt on EVERYONE, ESPECIALLY Charlie.

-Helsa holds her own weight when it comes to the Eldritch family, owning ALOT of souls

-Now this might be a BIT of a far stretch but I like to think she knew both Glitz & Glam in high-school and they were basically her crownie friends

-PERSONAL IDEA OF MINE, is that Helsa actually owns Overlord VELVETTES soul and is a massive reason Velvette was able to rise up the ranks so fast and become a overlord and become a member of the Vees, Helsa is often toxic and downright abusive with her, much like Val and Angels relationship or Fizz and Mammons

Charlie’s start of darkness

About a few years ago, I was coming up with a prediction on how Charlie would pull a face-heel turn later on in the series. But as time went by, I realized that she wouldn’t wind up a villain or go through a protagonist’s journey to villainy, kind of like Arthur Fleck of Joker; I even made a few comparisons between him and Charlie. So, I want to revisit this prediction and make it slightly more accurate, and we’ll see how long this will hold up. So, here’s my new prediction on Charlie’s future break-the-cutie moment, and what it might lead to.

Considering that Charlie is a nice, kindhearted demon born and raised in a world of hate, torment, and wickedness, and not to mention descended from a powerful fallen angel in charge of it, it’s kind of a mystery how she keeps up a chipper personality having to deal with utter assholes, like some school bullies she faced when she was younger. It’s kind of a wonder how long she had to deal with the yearly exterminations she had witnessed, having to listen to all the screams from the exterminators’ targets. If anything, it could have drove a nice person like Charlie insane if she didn’t allow those things to bother her so much, and yet they did.

What would cause Charlie to turn from a happy, kind demon into a dangerous, vicious princess of Hell? Let’s say that it begins during season one with her hotel. She would most likely face some huge challenges such as violent protesters demanding her to shut down the hotel just because, or some overlords threatening her to not interfere with their contracts, like possibly Valentino with Angel Dust. And speaking of Valentino, Charlie would unwillingly make some new enemies, like the other overlords (Vox or Velvette), or the angels in charge of the extermination (Adam and Lute), and already did she made a new enemy in the pilot episode: Katie Killjoy. Or even worse: an old enemy might appear and cause more trouble with her, like her old tormentor, Helsa. This can put a lot of pressure on a nice, little demon like herself, and even with her friends by her side to support her or console with her, she would most likely push aside her issues so that they wouldn’t have to worry about her, which I believe to be her biggest flaw.

And let’s not forget her issues with her father. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t truly believe Lucifer to be the abusive-type, rather the neglectful-type, particularly when he couldn’t bear to support his daughter’s ideas due to his grudge against God and Heaven. And not only that, but I have a headcanon that another reason why he couldn’t support his daughter’s hotel is because of an agreement with Heaven, that if they allow a yearly extermination in Hell up to a small amount of sinners’ souls (currently five billion I assume), then they wouldn’t need to wipe out the entirety of it. And if a sinner ever does get redeemed and wind up in Heaven, they’ll resort to waging war on Hell and begin Armageddon. And I wonder what would happen if Charlie does find out about this; she’ll most likely not take it very well.

I think that Charlie will start to lose her friendly demeanor and moral code, probably around season two or three. She wouldn’t want anything to interfere with her goals to redeem sinners anymore, especially when a dangerous overlord would stop at nothing to destroy her hotel. Alastor would definitely be her biggest influence in her road to darkness, possibly persuading her to use her full potential as princess of Hell to stop her enemies from interfering with the hotel. If she does choose to use her full potential, then she’ll have to stop behaving like a sweet, innocent hotel manager and become a ruthless, authoritative princess instead.

At first, Charlie would have to resort to stripping away an overlord’s powers with her nigh-angelic powers (inherited from her father) and render them into a simple nobody like everyone else. But if push comes to shove, she would exterminate an overlord instead, which could cause inner conflict within herself, knowing that she erased someone’s soul for the first time. Afterwards, she would grow into a feared legend across Hell like her father. No more protests against the hotel, no more overlords plotting to destroy the hotel, no more having to deal with rivaling demon families, no more obstacles. And what of her friends and employees? What of her girlfriend Vaggie? Would they attempt to talk her out of this before it’s too late? Would they see no other choice but to bail, seeing how their friend had turned into a monster? Or worse, would many of them grow tempted from the hotel’s reoccurring conflicts and stay by Charlie’s side, becoming part of her unwilling empire?

So, that’s all I have for this half-assed prediction. I do have other ideas on how the story would play out after her possible start of darkness, but what I’m coming up with is essentially some sort of religious horror story. I honestly don’t know how Vivzie and the Hazbin team would pull off Charlie’s character or the story’s main conflict overall. I could be wrong about her future break-the-cutie moment. I mean, I’m already finishing this post after over three years, and I already found out about the show’s newest characters: Adam and Lute. But one thing for sure is that Hazbin Hotel will become a banger of an adult cartoon, complete with a banger of a story. And who knows what Charlie might become later on in the series?

Hi! I know I haven't posted real content in over a year, but since I've been on Tumblr the past week, I can't help but notice a discourse happening on Helsa tag.

I believe as a community, we should all respect other people's takes and opinions, especially in a fandom, where everyone may perceive things differently. Everyone has their own preferences that not everyone could get or understand, and that is okay. For example, and also to address the elephant in the room, if you prefer a ship (in this case, Helsa) to not be canon, it's totally fine. And if you would love for it to be canon, then that is fine too. It's not okay when you try to tell people how they must feel towards a certain media (in this case, Frozen) and tell fellow shippers they're not a true shipper just because they don't share the same preferences as you do. Stating an opinion of your preference is not the same as telling others to change that preference to suit the one that you like.

"I would prefer to not have them to be canon."

"If you're a true fan, you would have done THIS instead!"

See how different those two sentences are? The first one is neutral, while the other one is more demanding.

Honestly, I want to respect both, but I believe respect is earned and not given, and if the person is being disrespectful then I will return the disrespect back to their faces. Treat people the way you want be treated, remember?

I've been in between fandoms for over a decade, so I've come across discourses over headcanons and preferences plenty of time. Here's a reminder: Be respectful! It's not hard if you recognise that everyone perceive things differently and that the world doesn't revolve around you and your opinions only. You can always agree to disagree.

Being respectful also means being respectful to fanartists and fanwriters. Have some decency and refrain from using someone else's works without their permission (it's not hard to ask!). Just because you found it on Google does not mean it's public domain. As for appreciating fanwriters, you can start by reading what you want to read. You can start by filtering keywords and tropes or genres that you don't like. AO3 has a tagging system for a reason. If you don't pay attention to the tags, don't blame the writer for writing what they want to write and not how you want it. They create contents for free and you are not the boss of them. If you want something that specifically suits your taste buds, you can commission them.

Learn how to differentiate between what's canon and what's your own headcanon and interpretations, what's canon and what's a mere concept. Maybe you're reading too much into it, maybe it's in your head. Headcanons are fun, being delulu is literally my middle name, but not everything that you perceive is canon. You can disregard canon (like I do, most of the time) but you have to be clear about it, and draw a hard line to separate them, label them with 'canon divergence' or 'canon compliance' (you can look up each definition). A concept that did not make into the final product can hardly be considered canon.

This fandom community is supposed to be a safe space for everyone regardless their reason in shipping Helsa (be it because of their appealing aesthetics or others) as long as they're being respectful to each other. I didn't think I would be here writing all these to address the bad apples. Sure, the bad apples are always there in every community, but when these bad apples are the loud majority, I feel like I have to say something to clear up some misconceptions about this fandom. Helsa fandom isn't exactly popular, even back in the day, and it's mostly because shippers of other ships and fandom purists have already assumed the worst when they interacted with the ship before they did the shipper, which once again is out of the shippers' control.

From my experience, name-calling fellow shippers over these niche stuff will drive people away and discourage some creators from creating content (I already am on this stage). So, in my opinion, let's just agree to disagree. It's probably just me, but it's not like we have the power to make the writers write what we want anyway (Frozen 2 is already a proof that they would write what they want to write).
